Andrew County Health Department provides numerous Environmental Health Services for our community including but not limited to:


Food Establishment Monitoring

  • All food establishments in Andrew County are inspected by the Environmental Public Health Specialist to assure compliance with state food codes
  • Missouri 1999 Food Code (regulations for food service establishments)
  • Food Ordinance
  • Andrew County will now be offering Food Handler Permit courses. It is a $15 charge/ person and classes will be held every Friday at 8:30AM and 1:30PM pending 10 or more people register for the class. For more information or if other class times are needed you may contact the Andrew County Health Department.

ChildCare Facility Monitoring

All child care facilities in Andrew County are inspected by the Environmental Public HealthSpecialist to assure compliance with state sanitation requirements



On-Site Sewage System Inspection and Permitting

Applications for on-site sewage system installation permits are available through this office and can be picked up during normal business hours or mailed upon request
- All septic system installations acreage exemption is less than 3 acres, with 3 or more being exempt with the following exceptions:

  • All commercial properties are required to have a permit regardless of the lot size
  • If there are 2 or more systems on a property, there needs to be 10 acres available for each system and at least 360 feet apart to still be exempt.
  • Lots divided into seven or more tracts may be under Missouri Department of Natural Resources regulations regarding on-site sewage disposal

Other Vital information:

  • Permit fee is $50.00
  • System inspection and permitting is performed by the Environmental Public Health Specialist
  • Questions and complaints regarding on-site sewage systems should be directed to the Environmental Public Health Specialist

  • Sample bottles are available for bacteriological testing of private drinking water supplies (wells, cisterns, etc.)
